The Project is "Elf".

The goal of the project was to provide economic development support for the downtown merchants in Sarasota, Florida during the holidays.

We created a character (e.g. Sarasota Elf) and launched a series of webisodes that followed the elf around downtown as he found great places to dine, shop and enjoy.

HOW WE DID IT

The core of the project was producing webisodes at different venues with a focus on local merchants. Each video was around 2 minutes in length and was released over a period of six weeks during the holidays.

A micro-site was launched (www.ilovedowntownsrq.com) where users could interface with the Elf, send e-cards and write Santa. A facebook page and Twitter account were also key to the project.

SUCCESS

The project was successful by all measures. The initial goal of Facebook Fans was 500 to 1,000 - and we attracted over 1,500 fans to the Sarasota Elf page in only two weeks. We also had over 25,000 unique visitors to the micro-site, and over 12,000 visitors to the webisodes on YouTube and Facebook.

The campaign was so successful other media companies in the area including ABC7 and local papers integrated the Elf into their Holiday shows and articles.
